Help! My Cd-rom is possessed!

My CD-Rom tray keeps opening and closing randomly and I have no clue what the problem is. I've ran Norton, Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Easy Cleaner and it came up with nothing out of the ordinary. Anyone ever heard of this? I'm running XP if that helps any.

I don't know, I'm sorry, but my basic checklist in times of panic is: reboot, reinstall drivers, check anything you've installed in the last couple of days, and failing that, do a system restore.

Man, I feel like a total dork now. I've only had XP for a few weeks and I forgot it can do the whole restore thing. You're a genius! *hugs*

If it works. It's not a guaranteed solution, and it's taken me a long time to learn to use it. In fact, I usually forget.

Didn't we have this conversation like yesterday? I don't have AIM while I'm in Nelson, because I'm not on my own computer. I have MSN only until late February.

I just got XP not too long ago. Who knows, maybe I do have Windows Messenger...

I really think I should cut my losses for the day since I seem to be in a never ending tunnel of dorkdom. Sheesh. I have Windows Messenger, apparently.

I think there is a virus that does that. You might want to download Stinger and try that.
